Description
Most people know Jeremiah 29:11 from graduation cards. Fewer know who first heard it.
These words were written to exiles: people carried far from home, told to build houses, plant gardens, and settle in, because rescue wasn’t coming next week. It was coming in seventy years. And into that long, uncertain waiting, God said: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans for your welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”
That’s what makes this verse worth hanging on your wall. It isn’t a promise that hard seasons end quickly. It’s a promise that you haven’t been forgotten in the middle of one — that Someone is still holding the plan, even when all you can see is the next ordinary day.
