What does the Bible say about Focus?

Focus is a struggle for many of us. Not only is the average attention span decreasing, but distractions are increasing as well. Both impact our ability to focus. The Bible has a lot to say about what and how we need to focus. Let’s take a look at 10 of them to recenter you on what matters.

Philippians 3:13-14

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Colossians 3:2

Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

I look to you for help, O Sovereign Lord. You are my refuge; don’t let them kill me.
